Tyler Childers’ Good Moon Festival comes to Durham Performing Arts Center on Friday, October 9th, 2026 for a very special edition of Good Moon Presents. The 2026 Grammy winner for ‘Bitin’ List’ written by Tyler Childers will bring his unique blend of music and more to the Kentucky-born and Grammy-nominated songwriter’s only North Carolina appearance this year.
Singer-songwriter Tyler Childers is returning to the stage following the release of his critically acclaimed 2025 album Snipe Hunter. Childers’ neotraditional country sound is often paired with bluegrass and he draws heavily from the Appalachian traditions that he grew up with. The performance will include a variety of songs including fan favorites “All Your’n,” “Busco,” and “In Your Love,” as well as new songs from his recently released triple album Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven.
Also performing at this unique concert will be Caribbean-American poet aja monot. Known for his surrealist blues poetry and powerful spoken word performances aja monot will add another layer to an already unique evening of music and words.

Tyler Childers is a singer from Kentucky. He is currently one of the major figures in modern country and American Roots music. His current tour is in support of his 2025 album “Snipe Hunter” but he will also play a large amount of songs from previous albums, that have received critical acclaim and much love from his very large fan base. Some of his most popular songs are “All Your’n”, “In Your Love” and “Bitin’ List”.
ja jay monet – poet and writer, Caribbean-American poet and artist aja monet accompanies Tyler Childers for this show of songs and words. The singer of surrealist blues poetry and writer and community-organizer based in Los Angeles joins the hard-hitting sounds of the hard-hitting Appalachian music of Tyler Childers for a multi-dimensional show of songs and words.
Aja Monet is known for her multi-disciplinary and innovative approach to storytelling, which fuses elements of spoken word, hip-hop, visual art and social justice activism. Her surrealist blues poetry is a unique and innovative force in contemporary performance. At the age of 19 she became the youngest Nuyorican Poets Café Grand Slam Champion in 2007 and the last woman to win that title.

The venue itself is a spectacular place to experience a live performance, with a beautiful glass curtain wall in the lobby of the venue that gives a view of the city. The Durham Performing Arts Center is easily accessible by car or by plane (Raleigh-Durham International Airport is only 15 minutes from DPAC). From the airport and the interstates nearby, DPAC is easily accessible. There is a large parking deck right next to the DPAC and there are other decks and surface lots in the downtown area of Durham to park at as well.
