Production creator Lin-Manuel Miranda re-tells the tale of Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Secretary of Treasury, through Hip-Hop and R&B music that has charmed audiences for close to a decade. "I understand how ridiculous the elevator pitch for this show is," says Miranda. "It sounds improbable. And then once you start hearing about Hamilton's life story, it sort of makes sense". Alexander Hamilton’s tale is a complicated one, to say the least.

From writing the Federalist Papers to creating the U.S. Coast Guard, and ending up meeting his demise at the hands of Vice President Aaron Burr. The Musical covers various key points in the Nations history.

By re-telling this story, the production has gone on to win 11 Tony Awards, a Grammy, and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize!

Show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda not only wrote and produced this award-winning work, but he also starred as Alexander Hamilton when the show first came to Broadway.

The acting ensemble of Hamilton, despite taking on the roles of white historical figures, is composed of minority actors.
